I have a fancy pile of sed magic that I found on the internet at
one point that is aliased to the
mvn command. It also provides a regular non-magick'ed version using
The thing that got me, that took me hours to figure out because I was so accustomed to maven being non-interactive:
If you run a
mvn release-prepare without specifying
-B for non-interactive, your terminal will stop, and you won’t
see any output.
filed on the Maven Jira finally enlightened me. I needed to remember to use
-B to ensure non-interactivity,
or I need to use the regular non-magick'ed version.
Lesson learned in all this? Maven really needs to be updated to support colorization on terminals that support it. I understand that it’s probably a pain, but maybe there can be a better way to plug-in that functionality, because having color certainly makes it MUCH easier to notice during the scrolling of data when something went wrong.
